Hey! Dear Friends, Families, Supporters, and Churches,

When Josh and I got married, I was more than happy to hand the Prayer Letters off to him! I told him it would be great for everyone to get to know him, his heart for missions, and all God was doing through the letters. He’s done a great job! But as we chatted recently, I asked him if I could write every once in a while again, and he said yes! So, this time, after almost 8 years, it’s me - Heather. I’m delighted to write to each of you.

My heart is almost overwhelmed with gratitude every single time I think of you all, every month when the receipts come in and we see the churches, families, and individuals who have sacrificially given, yet again… After 14 years on the field, I’m aware that your investments have been abundant, and I’m amazed. Please know that every single gift is appreciated. I could write books talking about God’s faithfulness in this area of support. God amazes us with His provision for special needs. Some months we just stand in awe. He knows what we need, and He provides. We are so grateful that you choose to invest in us and the work here in Peru. We know there are so many incredible missionaries out in the world who you could easily choose to support, but thank you for also choosing us. Thank you for believing in what God is doing in Peru.

Simon and Mary began coming to our church almost three years ago because their daughter absolutely loved it. The culture here is completely catered to whatever the kids want! Luckily, this cutie wanted to come to our church instead of the Catholic church! At the beginning, we witnessed to them, but time after time, it just seemed that they weren’t quite “getting it,” if you will. I sat down with Mary in the beginning and asked her about it personally, and she told me she wasn’t ready. For months and months, we prayed for them. Many weeks they would come and hear the faithful preaching of the Gospel. We kept praying. God continued working. I was able to invite Mary and her girl to our home to chat one day over a discipleship book. While Joseph played with their daughter, we talked through salvation again. This time, she called her daughter over so she could also clearly hear God’s great rescue plan. They both prayed with me at our kitchen table to receive Jesus’ free gift of salvation. Not long after that, Simon was talking with Josh about travel plans, and Josh was able to lead him to Christ. Several months later, this beautiful couple got baptized together. Last night in church, I smiled as they were sitting together on the front row of our church, listening diligently to the preaching of the Word of God. Yesterday was Friend Day, and Simon brought 11 people to church to hear the Gospel. Isn’t God amazing?

This October, we have planned special Sundays for each week. We started with Friend Day, as I just shared, and our church people outdid themselves. People just kept coming! Almost every family invited someone else. The Lord blessed us with ninety-one visitors in all!!! We were thrilled, and our big church was filled! We still have plans this month for Neighbor Day, Family Day, and then we end with the grand finale: our church’s 3rd anniversary! Will you please pray that more people and families will come to Christ and become faithful to His church?

Josh just got back from a quick trip to visit missionary Wes Palla in Brazil. He was able to help train his men as they’re setting up a studio. Josh smiled when he overheard Bro. Wes tell a man from his church, “This is how we’re going to reach the 220 million people of Brazil with the Gospel.” “He gets it!” Josh told me.

Our own social media ministry is absolutely booming. We now have channels in Argentina, Ecuador, Central America, and the Dominican Republic. Together with Christian Media International, we are paying different social media sites to put out our Gospel videos. So anyone in these countries can be walking down the street on an ordinary day, scrolling on their phone, and our presentation of the Gospel pops up and preaches to them on their own phone. It’s absolutely remarkable, the results God is allowing us to have, and every single day we get messages from someone else who heard the Gospel in one of these countries and wants to know more.

We couldn’t be here without God’s hand leading and guiding us daily. Please continue to pray for our family. Please pray specifically for the following:

  • Our church’s growth. May the Lord add daily those that are to be saved.

  • For faithful Christians. May the Peruvians see that Jesus is worth leaving all to follow.

  • For our family. Please pray for daily protection for our lives and property. Please pray for our health.

  • For our October attendance campaign and our church’s 3rd anniversary. Please pray that God will bless each special Sunday, that our church families will continue inviting others, and that many visitors will hear the Gospel and come to know Christ. We’re especially excited to celebrate three years of God’s faithfulness here!

  • For our special Christmas programs coming soon in December. May people not only hear the Gospel, but make life decisions to follow Christ.

May the Lord richly bless each of you. We thank God for you.

Serving Him,

- Josh, Heather, and Joseph Hedderman
